Berserkers
Berserkers were fierce warriors from Norse mythology, known for their frenzied battle rage. They often fought without armor, believing that their wildness made them invulnerable. This state of fury, called "berserkergang," was thought to be inspired by animal spirits, particularly bears or wolves, which they emulated in combat.
These warriors played a significant role in the Viking Age, serving as elite fighters in raids and battles. Their reputation for brutality and fearlessness made them both respected and feared. Berserkers were often associated with the Norse gods, particularly Odin, who was believed to grant them their extraordinary strength and ferocity.
