Berlin Tegel Airport
Berlin Tegel Airport was the main international airport serving Berlin, Germany, until its closure in November 2020. Located about 8 kilometers northwest of the city center, it was known for its unique hexagonal terminal design and efficient layout, allowing for quick passenger movement.
The airport opened in 1960 and became a key hub during the Cold War, facilitating travel to and from the divided city. It handled millions of passengers annually, offering flights to various destinations across Europe and beyond, before being replaced by the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport.
