Benchwarmer
A "benchwarmer" is a term used in sports to describe a player who is part of the team but rarely participates in games. These players often spend most of their time on the bench, waiting for an opportunity to play. While they may practice with the team and contribute in other ways, their main role is not to be a starter or key player during competitions.
Benchwarmers can be important for team dynamics, providing support and encouragement to teammates. They may also help maintain team morale and contribute to a positive atmosphere. In some cases, benchwarmers can develop their skills and eventually earn more playing time, becoming valuable assets to their teams, such as in basketball, football, or soccer.
