Beluga Sturgeon
The Beluga Sturgeon is a large fish species native to the Caspian Sea and Black Sea basins. It is known for its impressive size, often reaching lengths of up to 20 feet (6 meters) and weighing over 2,000 pounds (900 kg). This species is recognized for its elongated body and distinctive, smooth skin, which can vary in color from gray to blue.
Beluga Sturgeons are famous for producing caviar, a delicacy made from their eggs. Unfortunately, they are critically endangered due to overfishing, habitat loss, and pollution. Conservation efforts are underway to protect this ancient species and its natural habitat.
