Belle Isle Zoo
Belle Isle Zoo is a small zoo located on Belle Isle, an island park in Detroit, Michigan. Established in 1895, it was one of the oldest zoos in the United States. The zoo features a variety of animals, including native species and exotic wildlife, providing educational experiences for visitors.
The zoo is part of the Belle Isle Park, which offers recreational activities such as hiking, picnicking, and fishing. Although it faced challenges over the years, including temporary closures, efforts have been made to revitalize the zoo and enhance its facilities for both animals and visitors.
