Bela Karolyi
Bela Karolyi is a retired Romanian gymnastics coach known for his significant contributions to the sport. He gained fame for coaching elite gymnasts, including the legendary Nadia Comaneci, who achieved the first perfect 10 in Olympic history at the 1976 Montreal Games. Karolyi later moved to the United States, where he continued to develop young talent.
In the U.S., Karolyi became the national team coordinator and coached several successful gymnasts, including Mary Lou Retton and the 1996 U.S. Women's Olympic Gymnastics Team, which won gold in Atlanta. His coaching style emphasized strength, discipline, and innovative training techniques.
