Beeliar Wetlands
The Beeliar Wetlands are a series of interconnected wetlands located in Western Australia, stretching approximately 30 kilometers from Lake Monger to Cockburn Sound. This unique ecosystem is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including various bird species, fish, and native plants. The wetlands play a crucial role in water filtration and flood control.
The area is also significant for its cultural heritage, as it has been inhabited by the Noongar people for thousands of years. Today, the Beeliar Wetlands are protected and provide recreational opportunities, such as walking trails and birdwatching, while promoting environmental conservation.
