Bea Arthur
Bea Arthur was an American actress, comedian, and singer, best known for her distinctive voice and sharp wit. Born on May 13, 1922, in New York City, she gained fame for her role as Dorothy Zbornak on the popular television series The Golden Girls, which aired from 1985 to 1992. Her performance earned her two Primetime Emmy Awards.
In addition to her television success, Arthur had a notable career in theater, winning a Tony Award for her role in the Broadway musical Mame. She was also an outspoken advocate for various social causes, including LGBTQ+ rights, and remained a beloved figure in entertainment until her passing on April 25, 2009.
