Bavarian Landwehr
The Bavarian Landwehr was a military reserve force established in the Kingdom of Bavaria during the 19th century. It was created to supplement the regular army in times of war and to provide local defense. The Landwehr consisted of trained soldiers who had completed their mandatory military service and were called upon when needed.
This reserve force played a significant role in various conflicts, including the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871. The Bavarian Landwehr was part of the larger German military structure and contributed to the unification of Germany under the leadership of Otto von Bismarck.
