Battle of Ninety Six
The Battle of Ninety Six was a significant conflict during the American Revolutionary War, taking place from May 22 to June 18, 1781, in present-day South Carolina. It was fought between American Patriot forces and British Loyalists, with the Patriots attempting to capture the fortified town of Ninety Six, which was held by the British.
The battle was marked by a lengthy siege, where the Patriots, led by General Nathanael Greene, aimed to weaken British control in the South. Although the siege ultimately failed, it demonstrated the determination of the American forces and contributed to the overall struggle for independence.
