Battle of Nördlingen (1634)
The Battle of Nördlingen took place on September 6, 1634, during the Thirty Years' War. It was fought between the forces of the Holy Roman Empire, supported by the Spanish Empire, and the Swedish and German Protestant troops. The battle resulted in a decisive victory for the Imperial-Spanish coalition, significantly weakening the Swedish position in Germany.
Following the battle, the defeat led to the withdrawal of Swedish forces from southern Germany. The outcome also strengthened the influence of the Habsburgs in the region and shifted the balance of power, impacting the course of the Thirty Years' War.
