Battle of Jinju
The Battle of Jinju took place in 1592 during the first phase of the Imjin War, a conflict between the Korean Kingdom and Japan. The battle occurred in the city of Jinju, where Korean forces, led by Kim Si-min, defended the fortress against a Japanese siege. Despite being outnumbered, the Koreans utilized their knowledge of the terrain and strong fortifications to resist the attackers.
The siege lasted for several weeks, with the Japanese forces, commanded by Kato Kiyomasa, employing various tactics to breach the defenses. Ultimately, the battle ended in a Japanese victory, leading to the capture of Jinju. However, the fierce resistance demonstrated by the Koreans inspired further efforts in the ongoing war.
