Battle of Beaver Dams
The Battle of Beaver Dams took place on June 24, 1813, during the War of 1812. It was fought near Beaver Dams, in present-day Ontario, Canada. The battle involved British forces, including Indigenous allies, defending against an American attack led by Colonel Charles Boerstler.
The British, under the command of Lieutenant James FitzGibbon, used strategic positioning and local knowledge to ambush the Americans. The battle ended in a decisive victory for the British, leading to the withdrawal of American troops and boosting morale for British and Indigenous forces in the region.
