Battle Of Yamen
The Battle of Yamen took place in March 1279 during the final stages of the Song Dynasty's struggle against the Yuan Dynasty. This naval battle occurred near the mouth of the Pearl River in southern China. The Song forces, led by Admiral Cheng Gong, faced the much larger fleet of the Yuan Dynasty, commanded by Kublai Khan's generals.
The battle ended in a decisive victory for the Yuan Dynasty, leading to the collapse of the Song Dynasty. Following the defeat, many Song loyalists fled, while the remaining forces were either captured or killed. This battle marked the end of centuries of Song rule and the establishment of Yuan dominance in China.
