Battle Of Kosovo
The Battle of Kosovo took place on June 28, 1389, between the forces of the Serbian Prince Lazar Hrebeljanović and the Ottoman Sultan Murad I. This significant conflict occurred near the town of Kosovo Polje, in present-day Kosovo. The battle was part of the Ottoman expansion into the Balkans and marked a pivotal moment in Serbian history.
Although the battle ended in heavy casualties on both sides, it did not result in a clear victory for either party. Following the battle, the Ottomans gradually gained control over the region, leading to the eventual decline of the Serbian state and the rise of Ottoman influence in the Balkans.
