Battle Of Bunker Hill
The Battle of Bunker Hill took place on June 17, 1775, during the early stages of the American Revolutionary War. It was fought between British troops and colonial militia near Charlestown, Massachusetts. Although the battle is named after Bunker Hill, most of the fighting occurred on nearby Breed's Hill. The colonial forces, despite being outnumbered and lacking supplies, put up a strong defense against the British.
The British ultimately won the battle, but they suffered heavy casualties, with over 1,000 soldiers killed or wounded. This high cost demonstrated the determination of the colonial forces and boosted their morale, encouraging further resistance against British rule.
