Battery Park City Authority
The Battery Park City Authority (BPCA) is a public benefit corporation established in 1968 to develop and manage the Battery Park City neighborhood in New York City. This area was created by landfill from the excavation of the World Trade Center site and is located along the Hudson River. The BPCA oversees the planning, development, and maintenance of parks, public spaces, and infrastructure in the community.
The BPCA is responsible for ensuring that Battery Park City remains a vibrant and sustainable neighborhood. It manages various amenities, including the Battery Park City Parks Conservancy, which maintains the parks and green spaces, and promotes community engagement through events and programs.
