Batter's Box
The "Batter's Box" is a designated area on a baseball field where the batter stands while facing the pitcher. It is a rectangular space, typically 4 feet wide and 6 feet long, located on either side of home plate. The batter's box is marked with chalk or paint, helping to define the area where the batter must stand during their turn at bat.
When a player is in the batter's box, they must remain within its boundaries while attempting to hit the ball pitched by the pitcher. The rules of baseball require that the batter not step out of the box until the pitch is delivered, ensuring a fair and orderly game.
