Bathyscaphe
A bathyscaphe is a type of submersible vessel designed for deep-sea exploration. It consists of a buoyant structure that allows it to float and a heavy, pressure-resistant capsule where researchers can sit. Bathyscaphes are equipped with instruments to study underwater environments and collect samples from the ocean floor.
The most famous bathyscaphe is the Trieste, which made a historic dive to the bottom of the Mariana Trench in 1960. Bathyscaphes have advanced our understanding of marine biology and geology, enabling scientists to explore areas that are otherwise inaccessible to humans.
