Batch Reactors
Batch reactors are vessels used in chemical processes where reactants are added, mixed, and allowed to react for a specific period. Unlike continuous reactors, batch reactors operate in discrete cycles, meaning that the entire reaction occurs in one batch before the next batch is started. This setup is ideal for producing small quantities of products or for reactions that require precise control over conditions.
In a batch reactor, the temperature, pressure, and concentration can be carefully monitored and adjusted throughout the reaction. Commonly used in industries such as pharmaceuticals and food processing, batch reactors allow for flexibility in production and can accommodate a variety of chemical reactions and formulations.
