Bastet (Cat)
Bastet is an ancient Egyptian goddess often depicted as a lioness or a woman with the head of a lioness or domestic cat. In ancient Egypt, cats were revered animals, and Bastet was considered their protector. Killing a cat, even accidentally, was punishable by death.
