Basant Panchami
Basant Panchami is a Hindu festival celebrated to mark the arrival of spring. It usually falls in January or February, on the fifth day of the month of Magha. The day is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, music, and arts. People wear yellow clothes, symbolizing the mustard flowers that bloom during this season, and offer prayers to seek wisdom and prosperity.
On this day, devotees often perform rituals at temples and homes, placing books and musical instruments near the idol of Saraswati for blessings. Many also participate in cultural activities, including singing and dancing, to celebrate the vibrant spirit of spring.
