Bartram Trail Society
The Bartram Trail Society is an organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the historic Bartram Trail, a scenic hiking path that follows the route taken by the 18th-century naturalist William Bartram. The trail spans approximately 115 miles through the southern Appalachian Mountains, showcasing diverse ecosystems and beautiful landscapes.
Founded in 1998, the society works to maintain the trail, organize events, and educate the public about Bartram's contributions to natural history. They also collaborate with local communities and conservation groups to ensure the trail remains accessible and protected for future generations.
