Barton County, Missouri
Barton County is located in the southwestern part of the state of Missouri. It was established in 1855 and is named after Colonel Joseph Barton, a local military figure. The county seat is Lamar, which is known for its historical significance and as the birthplace of Harry S. Truman, the 33rd President of the United States.
