Bartolomeo Vanzetti
Bartolomeo Vanzetti was an Italian immigrant and anarchist who became widely known for his trial and execution in the early 20th century. Along with Nicola Sacco, he was accused of robbery and murder in Massachusetts in 1920. Their trial was marked by significant controversy, with many believing that they were unfairly targeted due to their political beliefs and immigrant status.
The case drew international attention and sparked protests, as many viewed it as a miscarriage of justice. Despite numerous appeals and public outcry, Vanzetti and Sacco were executed in 1927. Their case remains a symbol of the struggles against prejudice and injustice in the legal system.
