Bartholomew and the Oobleck
"Bartholomew and the Oobleck" is a children's book written by Dr. Seuss. It tells the story of a young boy named Bartholomew who lives in a kingdom ruled by a king obsessed with creating new types of weather. One day, the king orders his subjects to make a green substance called oobleck to fall from the sky instead of rain, snow, or sunshine.
As the oobleck begins to fall, it causes chaos in the kingdom. Bartholomew tries to help the king understand the consequences of his wish, leading to a lesson about the importance of appreciating what we have and the dangers of greed. The story combines whimsy with a moral message.
