Barrow
Barrow, officially known as Utqiaġvik, is a city located in the northernmost part of Alaska, USA. It serves as the administrative center of the North Slope Borough and is known for its extreme Arctic climate, with long, harsh winters and short summers. The city is primarily inhabited by the Iñupiat people, who have a rich cultural heritage and rely on traditional subsistence activities.
The economy of Barrow is largely based on oil and gas exploration, along with subsistence hunting and fishing. The city is also notable for its unique geographical features, including the Chukchi Sea to the north and the vast tundra surrounding it. Barrow experiences polar night in winter, where the sun does not rise for about two months, and midnight sun in summer, where the sun remains visible for about two months.
