Barred Owl
The Barred Owl (Strix varia) is a medium-sized owl native to North America. It has a distinctive appearance with a round face, dark eyes, and a mottled brown and white plumage. Barred Owls are known for their hooting call, which sounds like "Who cooks for you? Who cooks for you all?" They primarily inhabit forests, swamps, and wooded areas.
These owls are nocturnal hunters, feeding mainly on small mammals, birds, and amphibians. They are skilled at locating prey using their excellent hearing and vision. Barred Owls are also known for their adaptability, often thriving in urban environments where they can find food and nesting sites.
