Barnard 33
Barnard 33, also known as the "Horsehead Nebula," is a dark nebula located in the constellation of Orion. It is famous for its distinctive shape, resembling a horse's head, and is part of a larger region of star formation known as the Orion Molecular Cloud Complex.
The nebula is approximately 1,500 light-years away from Earth and is best observed in infrared wavelengths. Barnard 33 is surrounded by bright stars and glowing gas, which contribute to its striking appearance in astronomical images. Its formation is a result of dense interstellar dust blocking light from the stars behind it.
