Bark Scorpions
Bark scorpions, scientifically known as Centruroides sculpturatus, are small arachnids found primarily in the southwestern United States and parts of Mexico. They are recognizable by their slender bodies and long legs, typically measuring 2 to 4 inches in length. Bark scorpions prefer warm, dry habitats, often hiding under rocks, logs, or in crevices during the day.
These scorpions are known for their potent venom, which they use to subdue prey such as insects. While their sting can be painful and may cause serious reactions in some individuals, it is rarely fatal to healthy adults. Bark scorpions are nocturnal hunters, actively seeking food at night.
