Barisan Mountains
The Barisan Mountains are a mountain range located on the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. Stretching approximately 1,500 kilometers, they run along the western side of the island and are known for their volcanic activity. The range includes several notable peaks, such as Mount Kerinci, which is the highest volcano in Indonesia.
The mountains are part of a larger geological system and are characterized by lush rainforests and diverse ecosystems. They play a crucial role in the local climate and are home to various wildlife species, including endangered animals like the Sumatran tiger and Sumatran orangutan.
