Bar and Bat Mitzvahs
A Bar Mitzvah is a Jewish coming-of-age ceremony for boys, typically held when they turn 13. It marks the moment when a boy is considered responsible for his actions and can participate fully in Jewish rituals. The ceremony often includes reading from the Torah during a synagogue service, followed by a celebration with family and friends.
A Bat Mitzvah serves a similar purpose for girls, occurring at age 12. Like the Bar Mitzvah, it signifies the girl's maturity and her ability to engage in Jewish life. Celebrations may include a service, a party, and various traditions that honor the individual and their family.
