Bar/Bat Mitzvah
A Bar Mitzvah is a Jewish coming-of-age ceremony for boys, typically held when they turn 13. It marks the moment when a boy is considered responsible for his own actions and is eligible to participate in religious duties. The ceremony often includes reading from the Torah during a synagogue service.
A Bat Mitzvah serves a similar purpose for girls, celebrated at age 12. This event signifies a girl's transition into womanhood within the Jewish community. Both ceremonies are often followed by celebrations, which can include parties and gatherings with family and friends to honor the individual’s new responsibilities.
