Bangla calendar
The Bangla calendar, also known as the Bengali calendar, is a solar calendar used primarily in Bangladesh and the Indian state of West Bengal. It consists of 12 months, starting with Chaitra and ending with Falgun. The calendar is about 593 days ahead of the Gregorian calendar, making it unique in its structure and timing.
Each month in the Bangla calendar has 30 or 31 days, with the exception of Chaitra, which has 29 days in a common year and 30 days in a leap year. The calendar is widely used for cultural and religious events, including the celebration of Pohela Boishakh, the Bengali New Year.
