Bandeira do Brasil
The Bandeira do Brasil, or the Flag of Brazil, features a green field with a large yellow diamond in the center. Inside the diamond is a blue globe with 27 white stars, representing the Brazilian states and the Federal District. A white band across the globe displays the national motto, "Ordem e Progresso," which translates to "Order and Progress."
The flag was officially adopted on November 19, 1889, shortly after Brazil became a republic. Its design reflects the country's rich natural resources, with green symbolizing the forests and yellow representing gold. The stars are arranged to mirror the night sky over Rio de Janeiro on the date of the proclamation of the republic.
