Balaur
Balaur is a genus of theropod dinosaurs that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 70 million years ago. Fossils of Balaur have been found in what is now Romania, and it is known for its unique features, including a robust body and two large, clawed toes on each foot. This dinosaur is believed to have been a carnivore, preying on smaller animals.
Balaur is often classified within the group of dinosaurs known as dromaeosaurids, which are closely related to modern birds. Its distinctive anatomy suggests that it may have had adaptations for climbing or grasping, setting it apart from other theropods. The discovery of Balaur has provided valuable insights into the diversity of dinosaur species in Europe during the Late Cretaceous.
