Azuchi Castle
Azuchi Castle is a historic Japanese castle located in Azuchi, Shiga Prefecture. Built in the late 16th century by the powerful warlord Oda Nobunaga, it served as a symbol of his authority and military prowess. The castle was known for its impressive architecture and innovative design, featuring multiple levels and ornate decorations.
The castle was completed in 1579 but was destroyed just a few years later in 1582 after Nobunaga's death. Today, only the ruins remain, but Azuchi Castle is recognized as an important cultural site, reflecting the era of the Sengoku period in Japan's history.
