Austrian royal family
The Austrian royal family, primarily associated with the Habsburg dynasty, was one of the most influential royal families in European history. The Habsburgs ruled over vast territories, including the Austrian Empire and parts of Hungary, Bohemia, and Italy. Their reign lasted for centuries, significantly shaping European politics and culture.
The last reigning emperor of the Habsburgs was Emperor Charles I, who ruled until the end of World War I in 1918. Following the war, the monarchy was abolished, and Austria became a republic. Today, descendants of the Habsburg family still exist, but they hold no official power.
