Australian Magpie
The Australian Magpie is a large, black-and-white bird native to Australia and New Guinea. It has a distinctive appearance, with a black head, white wings, and a long tail. Known for its melodious song, the magpie is often found in open grasslands, parks, and urban areas.
These birds are highly social and live in family groups. They are omnivorous, feeding on insects, seeds, and small animals. During the breeding season, Australian Magpies can be protective of their nests, sometimes swooping at perceived threats, which has led to their reputation for aggression in certain areas.
