Australian Education System
The Australian Education System is divided into three main levels: primary, secondary, and tertiary education. Primary education typically starts at age 5 and lasts for seven years, followed by secondary education, which spans another six years. Students usually complete their secondary education by around age 17 or 18, culminating in the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) for university entry.
Tertiary education includes universities and vocational education and training (VET) institutions. Universities offer undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, while VET provides practical skills and training for various careers. The system is regulated by both state and federal governments, ensuring quality and accessibility for all students.
