Augusta, Duchess of Grafton
Augusta, Duchess of Grafton (1719–1813), was a prominent British noblewoman known for her role in the royal court. Born Augusta Murray, she married Henry FitzRoy, 2nd Duke of Grafton in 1749, becoming the Duchess upon his accession. She was a lady-in-waiting to Queen Charlotte, the wife of King George III, and played a significant part in court life during her time.
The Duchess was also known for her involvement in social and cultural activities, hosting gatherings that included notable figures of the era. Her legacy includes her contributions to the arts and her influence within the aristocracy of 18th-century Britain.
