August Schell
August Schell was a German-American brewer and the founder of the Schell's Brewery, established in 1860 in New Ulm, Minnesota. Born in 1828 in Germany, he immigrated to the United States in 1856, where he began his brewing career. Schell's Brewery is one of the oldest breweries in Minnesota and is known for its traditional German-style beers.
Under August Schell's leadership, the brewery grew and adapted to changing market demands. Today, it remains family-owned and continues to produce a variety of craft beers, maintaining a strong connection to its German heritage while embracing modern brewing techniques.
