Attukal Pongala
Attukal Pongala is a popular festival celebrated in Kerala, India, dedicated to the goddess Bhagavathy. It usually takes place in February or March and lasts for ten days, culminating in the Pongala day, when thousands of women prepare a special rice dish called Pongala in earthen pots.
On this day, devotees gather at the Attukal Bhagavathy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram to cook the dish using rice, jaggery, and coconut. The festival symbolizes unity and devotion, as women from various backgrounds come together to offer their prayers and celebrate the goddess's blessings.
