Asteroid 25 Phocaea
Asteroid 25 Phocaea is a large asteroid located in the Main Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter. It was discovered on September 23, 1853, by the astronomer Rudolf Wolf. Phocaea is classified as an S-type asteroid, which means it is composed mainly of silicate materials and metals.
With a diameter of approximately 57 kilometers (35 miles), Phocaea is one of the more prominent asteroids in its region. It has a relatively high albedo, reflecting more sunlight than many other asteroids, which makes it easier to observe from Earth. Its orbit takes about 4.5 years to complete one revolution around the Sun.
