Asian Highway Network
The Asian Highway Network is a collaborative project that aims to improve road connectivity across Asia. It consists of a series of highways that link major cities and regions, facilitating trade and travel. The network spans over 140,000 kilometers and includes routes in 32 countries, promoting economic growth and regional integration.
Established under the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), the network enhances transportation efficiency and safety. It supports sustainable development by providing better access to markets and services, ultimately benefiting local communities and fostering international cooperation.
