Asian Carp
Asian Carp are a group of fish species native to Asia, including the Bighead Carp, Silver Carp, and Grass Carp. They were introduced to the United States in the 1970s to help control algae in fish farms. However, they escaped into the wild and have since spread rapidly, causing ecological concerns.
These fish are known for their fast growth and high reproductive rates, which allow them to outcompete native species for food and habitat. Their presence in rivers and lakes can disrupt local ecosystems, leading to a decline in biodiversity and affecting recreational fishing and boating activities.
