Ashadhi Ekadashi
Ashadhi Ekadashi is a significant Hindu festival celebrated on the eleventh day of the waxing moon in the month of Ashadha, which usually falls in June or July. This day is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, and devotees observe fasting and engage in prayers to seek his blessings. It is particularly important in the state of Maharashtra, where it marks the beginning of the annual pilgrimage to Pandharpur.
The festival is also associated with the famous Warkari tradition, where devotees, known as Warkaris, sing devotional songs and participate in processions. Many people visit temples and offer special prayers, believing that observing this day brings spiritual merit and prosperity.
