Arthur Young
Arthur Young was an English writer and agriculturalist born in 1741. He is best known for his influential works on farming and agriculture, particularly his book, "A Six Weeks Tour Through the Southern Counties of England and Wales." Young's writings helped to promote agricultural improvements and innovations during the 18th century.
In addition to his contributions to agriculture, Young was also involved in the establishment of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. He served as the society's secretary and played a significant role in promoting advancements in various fields, including agriculture, industry, and education. Young passed away in 1820.
