Arthur II of Brittany
Arthur II of Brittany was a notable figure in the late 12th and early 13th centuries, born around 1187. He was the son of Geoffrey Plantagenet, the Duke of Brittany, and Constance of Brittany. Arthur became Duke of Brittany in 1203 after his mother's death and was known for his claim to the English throne through his maternal lineage.
His reign was marked by conflict, particularly with King John of England, who sought to assert control over Brittany. Arthur was captured in 1203 and later disappeared under mysterious circumstances, leading to speculation about his fate and the political dynamics of the time.
