Artem Mikoyan
Artem Mikoyan was a prominent Soviet aircraft designer, born on August 5, 1905, in Tiflis, which is now Tbilisi, Georgia. He co-founded the Mikoyan-Gurevich Design Bureau (MiG) in 1939, which became famous for developing a range of successful fighter aircraft. His work significantly contributed to Soviet aviation during and after World War II.
Mikoyan is best known for designing iconic aircraft such as the MiG-15 and MiG-21, which played crucial roles in various conflicts, including the Korean War. His innovative designs emphasized speed, agility, and performance, making MiG aircraft highly regarded worldwide. Artem Mikoyan passed away on December 9, 1970.
